What To Know About Construction and Demolition Waste in Ventura

C&D

Did you know that over 30% of what’s sent to California landfills, is the result of construction and demolition (C&D) projects?

C&D waste (uncontaminated, non-hazardous materials) are typically generated on jobs sites working with concrete, asphalt, masonry, wood materials, drywall, cardboard, mixed plastics, fixtures, trees and tree stumps, rocks, vegetation, and soil.

California State Law (the green building code) requires a 65% C&D diversion on residential projects. If you’re planning or working on a remodeling or building project, Environmental Sustainability staff can help you keep C&D materials out of the landfill!

The City of Ventura and E.J. Harrison & Sons, help projects meet state requirements through recycling. For more information on the C&D program, contact Arriana Rabago at (805) 652-4584 or email CDForms@cityofventura.net. Visit: http://www.cityofventura.net/page/construction-and-demolition.
