NEW HORIZONS: Hats Off to City of Ventura’s Bruce Robison

BruiserBruce Robison, City of Ventura Street Maintenance Lead Worker for 35 years is, retired as of April 6, 2016.

Robison began working with the city in 1981. Initially, he worked the downtown area as an equipment operator and in 1991 became a Lead Worker supervising and working with his team.

“In more recent years, I split my time working for both Environmental Sustainability and the Street Maintenance Division,” said Robison.

In his position as Lead Worker, Robison was responsible, in part, for street and stormdrain clean up and maintenance and Big Belly trash can installation and servicing.

“I really enjoyed working for the City,” said Robison. “Now, I’m looking forward to retirement. I’ll be able to spend more time with my wife and brother and my nieces and nephews.

Bruce’s two main goals in retirement, at least initially, are to travel and to fish. He’s also not at all worried about being bored or living the life of leisure.

“If I can’t find anything to do, I’m sure my wife will find some chores to keep me busy!”
