The Three R’s – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle — help save money, energy, natural resources and keeps waste out of the landfills. Here are some simple tips to save resources in the workplace:
•Bring your own water bottle and/or coffee cup
Carry a reusable, BPA Free, water bottle with you to work. Encourage coworkers to do the same. If you make a Starbuck’s or Coffee Bean run in the morning, always carry your own eco-friendly container and watch the number of napkins you take, opting to only take what you know you’ll use.
•Do you brown bag your lunch?
Try packing your lunch in reusable, washable containers and carry it in reusable lunch bags. Make sure you pack reusable utensils.
If you’re planning to dine out for lunch at a local restaurant, and you typically require a doggy bag for leftovers, carry your own reusable plastic “take-out” container.
•Always carry a reusable bag
A good rule of thumb is to always carry a reusable bag in your briefcase, purse, backpack or car. You never know when you might decide to pick up lunch or go shopping.
