The issue of Electronic Waste (E-waste) is global, especially since many countries ship their toxic leftovers overseas. This new crisis is leading to a variety of programs and legislative approaches.

What items are considered Electronic Waste?

Electronic Waste consists of any of the following items:
Cell Phones, Telephones, Computers, FAX machines, Microwave Ovens, Monitors and TVs, Printers, Radios, Stereos, VCRs, and
Other electronics

As a Ventura Resident, where can I take my Electronic Waste for collection / recycling?

No need to store or wait for a collection event to safely dispose of your electronic items. The City of Ventura, in cooperation with Gold Coast Recycling (5275 Colt St.), offers Ventura residents an opportunity to discard computers and electronic waste at no charge during regular hours of operation according to the following parameters:

  • Identification IS REQUIRED to confirm City of Ventura residency. Be prepared to show your driver’s license or your most recent Utility Bill.

What disposal options do I have for my Business / Commercial Electronic Waste?

Ventura businesses may also take their electronic waste to Gold Coast Recycling (5275 Colt Street). Bring proof that your business is located in the City of Ventura.

REMINDER: Computers cannot go in the trash. Land-filling monitors and other electroic waste is illegal in California.
